Big Picture

This river has killed millions just by flooding. People should keep using the water but not too much, so it wont get too shallow. The flooding is a natural hazard because it kills millions and it also causes destruction.

  1. Wow! it must stink to live in a area with lots of flooding. This reminds me of tsunamis because they flood areas as well and kill lots of the envirement and some of the population as well. 5 million dollars is a lot of money to clean up all the damage that was caused.

  2. This is not like monsoons because they have long periods of drought. People on the coast of China have to deal with this. Their crop production declines making their economy decrease with it. People are also dying of malnutrition.

  4. This reminds me of the flooding in Bangladesh because this country also struggles with flooding and people getting killed and injured, along with lots of destruction.

  5. This reminds me of the Ganges river because they are rivers that the people rely on for many uses. This is the opposite because the Yellow river is China’s Sorrow and the Ganges is sacred to its people.

  6. This reminds me of the Monsoons in the summer around India because the flooding of the Huang He in China causes death and devastation to people who live near it, yet they are also a vital lifeline for people living in affected areas.
